I keep a small bowl of hardboiled eggs in the fridge for salad or breakfast or... well, whatever one might need an egg for. Sometimes I have one for a snack as I get ready to cook. Sometimes it gets lost in the shuffle, if only for a moment. So:
How can we tell which eggs are hardboiled?

Spin the egg in question.
If the egg spins freely, it's hard-boiled.
If it wobbles and stops spinning, it's not hard-boiled.
Of course, if you drop it, you'll find out soon enough.
